What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Short because the platform is simple.

What We Collect

To run the platform we collect: the email address and display name you provide when you sign up, the essays and answers you submit for practice and grading, your progress data (XP, streaks, question history), and basic technical data (IP address, browser type) needed to serve the site and rate-limit abuse.

How We Use It

Your submissions are graded by our AI examiner and used to show you feedback, band estimates, and personalised practice. Progress data powers your dashboard, streaks, and leaderboard entries. We do not sell your data. We do not share your essays with third parties for training their models.

Third-Party Services

We use Supabase (auth and database) and Cloudflare (CDN) to run the platform, and Google Gemini via an AI gateway to grade writing. Submissions sent to the grader are used only to return your feedback and are not used by those providers to train models or for purposes beyond that single call.

Data Retention And Your Rights

You can update your display name and learning preferences from Settings at any time. You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by contacting us; on request we will remove your account and associated practice history within a reasonable timeframe.

Children

IELTS Atlas is intended for users aged 13 and above (or the minimum age for data consent in your country). If you believe a younger user has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.

Cookies

We use cookies only where they are essential to run the site — keeping you signed in, remembering your Academic/General Training preference, and protecting against abuse. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Contact

If you have questions about how we handle your data, contact us through the details published on IELTS Atlas once the contact pages are live. We aim to respond to privacy requests promptly.
